How to install Solo2
One minute. No app store. No prior registration.
Solo2 is a web application. It works directly in the browser, but if you install it on your home screen it behaves like a native app: its own icon, notifications and full screen.
iPhone
-
1
Open Safari
Type solo2.net in the address bar. It has to be Safari — other browsers on iPhone don't allow installing web apps.
-
2
Tap the share button
It's the small square with an upward arrow, in the bottom bar of Safari.
-
3
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Scroll down in the menu to find this option. Confirm with "Add".
-
4
Open Solo2 from the new icon
That's it. Create your account from the installed app — not from Safari.
Android
-
1
Open your browser
Chrome, Firefox, Edge or any other. Type solo2.net in the address bar.
-
2
Accept the installation
The browser directly offers "Install application" or "Add to Home Screen". Tap accept.
-
3
Open Solo2 from the new icon
That's it. Create your account from the installed app.
If the browser doesn't offer to install automatically, tap the menu (three dots at the top right) and look for "Install application" or "Add to Home Screen".
Computer
On a computer, there's nothing to install. Open solo2.net in your browser and that's it. Notifications work in all desktop browsers. Solo2 works the same in a tab as an installed app.
Important: install first, create your account afterwards
Your vault — where your messages, files and contacts live — is created inside the browser or installed app where you first sign up.
If you create your account in Safari and then install the app, they will be two separate spaces. The vault stays in Safari and the installed app will be empty. Notifications won't work from the browser either.
That's why we always recommend installing first and creating your account afterwards, from the installed app.
Why isn't Solo2 in the App Store or Google Play? Because being in the store would leave a trace in your purchase history. Privacy begins before you send your first message.
